I’m not sure what else can be said that hasn’t already about the World Cup clash between New Zealand and England today. Twin destroyers Tim Southee (7 for 33) and Brendan McCullum (77 of 25 balls) not only rubbed England’s noses into the dirt, but also made them eat it. It was both exhilarating and simultaneously soul erasing.
Instead of feigning interest in a play by play lets look at some stats form the game. Brendan McCullum scores an 18 ball half century. Steve Finn goes for 49 runs after bowling just two overs. New Zealand were 0 for 92 after 6 overs and won the game in 12 overs.
‘Nuff said.
