Pant Goes Long, Trousers English Attack

Each new English test match under their new regime seems to get more and more interesting. Early on the first day it seemed as if the plans of Mister C and The Fonz (see article here for that to make any sense) were spot on as India suddenly found themselves in the poo at 5 for 98. Then along comes Risbah Pant, known for his extravagant hitting and occasional match winning performances. Let’s be honest though, I think we all thought it was going be fireworks then dumpster fire, seeing the way that Potts and Anderson had decimated the top order. Instead it turned out to be a masterful knock of 146 off just 111 balls alongside Jadeja’s 83 not out. India made it to stumps with a much better outlook at 7 for 338. Pant’s innings rivalled that of his opposite number, Jonny Bairstow (Ralph Malph), who’s played a similar type of hand in his last few tests.

Looking forward to day two and seeing if India can pile on some more runs to make it difficult for the home boys.
